Settings

Configure your system settings (config.php in phpMyCatalog base directory).

  1. The best thing you could do is to browse that file a edit what you want. Here you can change all program settings. Now there aren't many options, but this could change in the future.
  2. Database settings are specially important. The user must have full access to the database. By default phpMyCatalog comes with user=root and without password. This is usually the default mysql privileged user. Although this is not the securest way to access MySQL it's very confortable for beginners, since you don't have to create a database user (they aren't the same as normal system users) and change phpMyCatalog database settings. Change this only if you know what are you doing.
  3. Here you can also configure some default values that will save you much time and select the language. Only spanish and english are available at this time, but it's very easy to translate phpMyCatalog. Contact me if you plan to translate it and I will include it in the official release.
